Child Protective Services

After an investigation is completed and ongoing services to a family are recommended the case is assigned to a worker. The worker, along with the parents, completes a case plan, which includes necessary activities that need to be completed to reduce risk factors in the family. Most of these cases are court ordered, but some parents volunteer for support services.

A family stability worker is also assigned to families when necessary. This worker works specifically with families and children to prevent placement or to reunify them if placement has already occurred.

Services to families may include but are not limited to diagnostic assessment for chemical dependency, counseling, transportation, protective daycare, parenting and anger management classes. Homemaking and parenting skills are also a major component of this program.
